SOME IMPORTANT KEY TERMS.

1) Electric Current : - The rate of flow of electrons in a conductor.

                                          

2) Charge : - It is a property of material due to excess. 

                                     Or

Defficiency of electron that is charge.

2) Thermal power plant : - A thermal power plant is a power plant where heat energy is transformed into electric power. 

                                          

3) Nuclear power plant : -Nuclear power, electricity generated by power plants that derive their heat from fission in a nuclear reactor.

                                              

4) Hydropower power plant : -Hydroelectric power, is one of the oldest and largest sources of renewable energy, which uses the natural flow of moving water to generate electricity.

                                          

4) AC current : It is a type of electrical current, in which the direction of the flow of electrons switches back and forth at regular intervals or cycles.

5) DC current : - It is is electrical current which flows consistently in one direction. 

6) Battery and cell : - A battery is a device that converts chemical energy into electrical energy and a cell is a single electrical energy source that uses chemical reactions to produce a current.

7) Solar cell : - A device that generates electricity when sun light falls in it that is called solar cell .

8) Electrical circuits : - Electrical circuit is a closed path of wires that is called electrical circuits.

9) Electric switch : - Electric switch device for opening and closing path that is electrical switch.

10) Conductor : - those materials which all electric current to pass through them are called conductors. 

Example, copper, aluminium,iron, gold, steel, mercury, etc

11) Insulator : - Those materials which do not allow electric current to pass through them are called insulators.

Example : - Rubber, plastic ,ceramics , wood ,glass, Mica ,cotton wax, paper, air etc

12)Terminal : - A point in on any electrical device from which the current inter are exits 

.

13)Dry cell : - A setup that converts chemical energy into electrical energy that is called dry cell .
